I wanted to talk to someone at Citi Cards before I open up a credit card with them. I received some mail from them and it was enticing, but I don't want to open up a credit card blindly. I wanted to talk to someone about the interest rates, when they expire, and any associated annual fees. Citi Cards has a fairly large name and a lot of customers, so I was aware that it may take me a while to talk to someone. However, I still want to talk to someone before I apply and my credit gets with an inquiry so I made the call. 

When I called, an automated voice answered and said, "Welcome to Citi Cards. This card may be monitored or recorded. How can I help you today?" I answered that I wanted to "talk to someone" with the hope that I would get right to someone. Unfortunately, I did not have that type of luck. The assistant replied back, "To accurately direct this call, I will need a little more information. In a few words, tell me the reason you called." 

I tried once again to say that I wanted to talk to someone, but once again the virtual agent redirected me and asked for more information by saying, "I understand that you are requesting to speak with a representative, to proceed, please let me know what you need assistance with." 

I had nothing else to say, so I once again said that I wanted to talk to someone about a card and it just kept looping in the same mess. I wasn't able to get anyone to actually talk to. I ended up hanging up because there was no point. I didn't have a card number to enter so I wasn't able to get the system to let me go any further in the discussion.
