Calling this number ran into some problems, as the customer service representative didn't seem to understand what I was saying and the call ran into technical difficulties. When I called, I was told that I needed to have a booking ID and provide it to get assistance. However, I discovered that this is actually optional, as this is a faux chokepoint that you can get past with some patience.
When I was asked to give my booking ID, I was asked twice before the system recognized my entries as invalid and put me through to a representative. Once I hit this step, I was quickly put through to a representative, who asked how she could help me.
I explained that I was new to using Agoda and wanted to know what deals were available on the site for my travel. She asked me for my booking ID, and I told her that I did not have one. I then stated again that I was a potential new customer using Agoda for the first time and wanted to know what deals were available and how I could find them.
The representative seemed initially confused and started to explain that Agoda was meant to provide deals to customers from around the world before she started to turn toward how I could find deals myself. As she started to go over some of the programs that Agoda had and could offer me, she suddenly stopped talking.
I couldn't find any kind of explanation for why she would have stopped talking until I checked my phone and discovered the the call had been lost during her explanation. At that point, I chose to wait to see if I would get a call back, as similar phone numbers often do call back by using the information that they'd gleaned from having you call in.
No such call ever came; I was simply expected to call back and start going through the process again if I wanted more help. As I didn't, I chose not to make another attempt to talk with someone.
Overall, I thought there were a couple of positives, notably the fact that the chokepoint could be worked around and that the representative seemed ready to offer help when asked. However, the fact that I got hung up on and didn't get any kind of call back was really surprising for me. I also wasn't impressed that the representative didn't seem to understand what I was saying until explaining multiple times.
Overall, I wouldn't use this number to get customer service; it seems that the website offers more information and assistance.

An important note: let's clarify busy times vs. hold times vs. the best time to call. When we talk about busy or less busy times, we're referring to the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Agoda phone number (and naturally, fewer people call during the least busy times). But a high call volume doesn't necessarily mean you'll have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Agoda staff their call centers differently throughout the day and week. So, you might actually experience a shorter wait on hold even during the busiest times. When we talk about the best time to call, we're looking for that sweet spot: the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.
Friday's the quietest day to call Agoda. Monday's our busiest, averaging 5% more calls. We've based this on 3,184 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days, showing: Mon Busiest Tue Wed Thu Fri Quietest Mon Busiest Fri Quietest.
We've found the shortest hold times are on Tuesday. On average, the longest queue wait is on Friday, a full 155% longer than the minimum. Interestingly, there's more fluctuation in hold times throughout the week than there is in actual call volume. But hey, if you use our free 'call and talk for me' or 'wait on hold for me' service, you don't really need to worry about average wait times at all. Just remember: call and talk for me wait on hold for me Mon Tue Shortest Wed Thu Fri Longest Tue Shortest Fri Longest.
So, the best day to call Agoda is Tuesday. It's not their least busy day, but the shortest hold times, even on a busier day, suggest Agoda staffs up on Tuesdays to handle the higher call volume. That makes it the best time to call.
By Jeff Whelpley. So, calling this number turned out to be a bit of a hassle. For starters, the customer service representative couldn't quite grasp what I was trying to explain, and then the call itself was plagued with some technical glitches. When I called, they told me I'd need a booking ID to get help. But it turns out that's actually optional; it's just a bit of a hurdle you can clear with a little patience. They actually asked for my booking ID twice, and only after the system finally recognized my entries as invalid did it transfer me to a live representative. Once I got past that, I was connected pretty quickly to someone who then asked how she could help me. I told her I was new to Agoda and wanted to find out what deals they had for my trip. She asked for my booking ID, and I said I didn't have one. I reiterated that I was a potential new customer, using Agoda for the very first time, and simply wanted to know what deals were available and how I could go about finding them. The representative seemed a bit confused at first and began explaining that Agoda was designed to offer deals to customers globally, before eventually shifting to how I could find deals on my own. Just as she started to go over some of Agoda's various programs and what they might offer me, she suddenly stopped talking mid-sentence. I couldn't figure out why she'd suddenly gone quiet until I checked my phone and realized the call had completely dropped right in the middle of her explanation. So, I decided to wait and see if they'd call me back, since other similar numbers often do that, using the info they got from my initial call. But no call ever came; they just expected me to call back and start the whole process over if I still needed help. Since I didn't want to, I decided not to try talking to anyone again. Overall, I thought there were a couple of good things, especially that you could work around the bottleneck and that the representative seemed ready to help when I asked. But getting hung up on and not getting any kind of call back really surprised me. I also wasn't thrilled that the representative didn't seem to get what I was saying until I explained it multiple times. Honestly, I wouldn't use this number for customer service; the website seems to offer more help and information. Jeff really believes all customers deserve good service. He's been building tools, inventing phone tree hacks, and helping customers since before his days at CallHelpdesk. He's also a Google GDE and involved in the Angular community.
